Auntie Gee Gee's Rich Peanut Butter Cookies

Warning!! VERY ADDICTIVE!

These are my favorite cookies!  I have made these cookies for years.  They are one of the three cookies I put into my goody bags I make every year for Christmas.  I have had many compliments on these cookies. They are rich and chewy.  You can eat these by themselves or add them to your bowl of ice cream.

Ingredients:
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup peanut butter (I use Jiff)
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1 egg
1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup peanut butter chips (I use reeses peanut butter chips)
Granulated sugar

Heat oven to 375 degrees.

My daughter Haley helped me!

Mixed

In large bowl, beat brown sugar, peanut butter, and egg with electric mixer on medium speed until creamy, or mix with spoon.

Half a bag is usually 1 cup

Stir in four, baking soda, baking powder and salt.  Stir in peanut butter chips.

Shape dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.  Dip tops of balls into granulated sugar.  Place balls, sugared side up.  3 in. apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. (Do not flatten)

Bake cookies 9-10 min. or until golden brown.  Cool 5 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

Makes about 2 dozen cookies
